ABOUT

WHERE WE COME FROM

We emerged from Mojave Research Inc—a company born from a team that built AI/ML agentic systems for the U.S. Government in the highest classified and life-and-death operational spaces.

That's about as much as we can say about that work.

What we can tell you: My team has built and deployed AI systems where hallucination isn't an inconvenience—it's a catastrophe. They've created models for environments where being wrong doesn't cost money or reputation. It costs lives.

We bring that discipline to legal practice.

THE PROBLEM WE SOLVE

The legal industry adopted LLMs early. But most firms don't fully understand the lack of accuracy and the dramatically higher rates of hallucination than they imagine.

Legal work is high-stakes. Being wrong or submitting errors to a court can cost a client's freedom, millions of dollars, or your license to practice.

Yet firms face what recent research calls The Verification-Value Paradox: they spend more time verifying that an LLM didn't make mistakes than the time the AI saved them in the first place.

That's not a tool. That's a liability.

OUR APPROACH

Jason Wareham, Founder & Lead

17+ years as a trial attorney. Former Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel.

Jason was hand-selected by military leadership for cases where failure wasn't an option:

  • Managing Defense Counsel for the 9/11 Military Commission prosecutions (described as the most complex criminal trial in history)
  • Lead Defense Counsel for the U.S.S. Cole bombing capital case at Guantanamo Bay
  • 50+ cases before military appellate courts and the U.S. Supreme Court
  • Combat deployment to Afghanistan as tactical General Counsel under fire

He built and led teams of attorneys distributed worldwide, managing classified evidence, complex discovery, and digital forensics in capital cases.

LL.M. with distinction from Georgetown Law Center, specializing in:

  • E-Discovery & Digital Evidence
  • Cloud Computing & Network Architecture
  • Cybersecurity & National Security Law
  • Encryption & Privacy

Jason authored "Cracking the Code: The Enigma of the Self-Incrimination Clause and Compulsory Decryption" in the Georgetown Law Technology Review.

He knows what's at stake.

He's defended capital cases. He's managed Top Secret/SCI clearances. He's managed complex discovery and digital forensics in the highest-stakes litigation.

When he tells you how our systems work, he's not reading marketing materials. He's explaining systems he understands from the mathematics up, applied to legal problems he's solved for nearly two decades.

THE TECHNICAL TEAM

My core team includes principal-level AI researchers who have built production systems for the U.S. Department of Defense—systems where failure isn't an option.

One holds a Ph.D. in AI/ML architecture and spent five years as a principal researcher for DoD before becoming Chief Solutions Architect for AI/ML at a major defense contractor. His work spans sensor fusion, state-of-the-art transformer architectures, and security dataset augmentation research, plus classified systems we can't discuss.

Another is a Princeton-educated machine learning scientist whose research on masked transformers and synthetic tabular data was published at NeurIPS 2023. His recent work includes state-space models and downstream learning. He specializes in deep learning architectures, generative modeling, and advanced knowledge representation systems.

They've built AI for:

  • Signals intelligence and cyber defense
  • National security applications requiring absolute accuracy
  • Classified projects where the stakes are measured in lives

We're used to environments where hallucination prevention isn't a feature request—it's a survival requirement.

That discipline now serves law firms.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOUR FIRM

We're not a legal tech company that added AI.

We're AI researchers from defense and national security who understand that legal work demands the same rigor we brought to life-and-death systems.

When we talk about "multi-agent adjudication" or "cryptographic verification," we're not using buzzwords. These are production techniques used in systems designed by researchers who have:

  • Built ML models for classified defense applications
  • Published at top-tier AI conferences (NeurIPS, ACL)
  • Created systems where accuracy failure means mission failure

Combined with a litigator who has:

  • Managed the most complex trials in American history
  • Personally reviewed millions of pages of discovery
  • Built secure evidence platforms under nation-state threat
  • Defended cases where lives were on the line

We know what's at stake. We've been there.

HOW WE WORK

The Coaching Model

We don't sell software licenses and walk away. We partner.

Phase 1: Assessment & Coaching

Jason comes in personally. He assesses your firm's workflows, identifies where AI can actually help (and where it can't), and provides expert guidance on AI/ML integration. You get consulting from someone who understands both the technology and the practice.

Phase 2: Bespoke Solutions

My team builds custom AI/ML agentic solutions tailored to your firm's specific needs. Not off-the-shelf software configured to sort-of work. Actual custom systems built for how you practice.

Phase 3: Platform Deployment

Once we understand your practice from working with you, we deploy your firm's private AI platform. Completely isolated. Trained on your historical case data. Built to work the way you actually practice.

The result: An AI system that understands your firm's approach, knowledge, and workflow—augmented and accelerated.

WHAT MAKES OUR APPROACH DIFFERENT

Data Sovereignty First

Your data stays in your environment. No cloud API calls sending your case files to third parties. No data mining. Your practice, your data, under your complete control.

Solving The Verification-Value Paradox

We're building AI systems that reduce verification burden, not just generate faster output. Through techniques proven in defense and intelligence work, we aim to bring accuracy levels where verification cost approaches zero.

Net Value = Efficiency Gain - Verification Cost

Traditional AI: Verification Cost ≈ Efficiency Gain → Net Value ≈ 0

Our Goal: Verification Cost → 0 → Net Value = Full Efficiency Gain

Built for High Stakes

We design systems for environments where being wrong has consequences. Your practice demands the same rigor we brought to classified defense work.

OUR COMMITMENT

You don't get a SaaS vendor. You get:

A trial attorney with 17 years of complex litigation experience who understands your actual workflow

Ph.D.-level AI researchers who build production systems for the Defense Department

Custom solutions deployed in your environment – complete data sovereignty

Systems designed for accuracy – not just speed

Transparency – you understand how and why the AI reaches conclusions

We've defended capital cases. We've built systems for national security.

We bring that same discipline to your practice.
